My Lord and Redeemer, I entreat you to continue your gracious protection to me and my family this night. Defend us from all dangers, and from the fear of them; that we may enjoy such refreshing sleep as may fit us for the duties of the coming day.
And grant me grace always to live in such a state that I may never be afraid to die; so that, living and dying, I may be yours, through the merits and satisfaction of your Son Christ Jesus, in whose name I offer up these my imperfect prayers.
Offer Him thanksgiving for a blessing you enjoyed this day
Father in the name of Jesus, I thank for all things that you send my way, because I know it’s all for your glory and it’s for my good. I’m going to praise you always because you know what you are doing even when I don’t.
Lord, I ask that you look on the sick and the afflicted today, they really do need your help, and Lord I ask that you place the right people in their lives to help them, even if that be me. You know what they are in need of before they start to ask. Father, heal their bodies, souls and minds, turn their life around.
Confess your failings, accept and thank Him for His forgiveness
Tonight, Lord, I lift before you the child who weeps tonight in fear or pain. I know your love for the innocents and offer myself as your instrument in bringing hope to any such child I may know.
I offer to you, Lord, any last stirrings of my heart before you give me rest.
Give over to His hands those things which occupy your mind and receive His rest
God, these tiny little prayers feel like cheating. Does that even count? Yes, I know they do. Help me combat these feelings of shame by speaking truth, by offering up these small prayers of surrender as I can and trusting they are enough.
Give me freedom from the shame I am feeling. Help me fix my thoughts on you, not on my past, my failures or hurts. Give me eyes to see your goodness.
